The Story Behind This Dreamy Lake House.
We like to call this one the “Architects Vision” because for this project, the architect is also the homeowner! Nestled in the Sunshine Coast in the town of Gibsons, BC with beautiful views across Átl'ka7tsem/Howe Sound to Keats Island, James Tuer brought his vision to life for his own home and entrusted Kolbe Gallery in supplying his luxury windows and doors.
This project showcases Kolbe Gallery's Ultra Series Aluminum Clad Wood Windows, specifically incorporating crank-out casements and bevelled direct set fixed windows. Enhancing the sleek and modern aesthetic, these windows feature a Timberwolf exterior finish colour. Meanwhile, the interiors exude warmth and elegance with a double clear coat of mixed grain fir, elevating the ambiance of the living spaces.
Featuring square profile glazing beads/stops and a modern profile with a minimum jamb depth of 6-5/8", these windows seamlessly blend functionality with style. The LoE 270 dual-glazed glass enhances energy efficiency and allows for optimal transmission of natural light.
Incorporating a design-centric approach, the casement windows are adorned with Encore-style matte black crank-out handles, while the doors showcase Dallas-style matte black door handles. The project maintains a cohesive aesthetic with the inclusion of adjustable swing door hinges in a sleek black finish.
